Things to Do in St. Petersburg This Weekend: Best Festivals & Events Guide

Here’s what’s happening this weekend in the Sunshine City

Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival
📍Beyond the Burg: Clearwater Beach
All Weekend, March 27-29, Various Times
Clearwater Beach’s Pier 60 plays host to 17 world-class sand artists transforming 1,000 tons of sand into a sprawling 24,000-square-foot walk-through exhibit that is, by any reasonable measure, an absurd and wonderful use of a beach. Street performers, live entertainment, weekend fireworks, sand sculpting classes, and a master sculpting competition round out 17 days of seaside spectacle that will make you feel genuinely good about leaving the house.

The Divas of the ’70s and ’80s
📍Beyond the Burg: Clearwater
Friday, March 27, 8 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Aspirations Winery in Clearwater hosts a high-energy live tribute to the greatest female artists of two iconic decades, with a full band delivering powerhouse renditions of hits from Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, ABBA, and more. Two and a half hours of nonstop classics that will have you questioning why you ever stopped listening to any of this music in the first place.

SPCA Tampa Bay’s 35th Annual Pet Walk*
📍Beyond the Burg: Largo
Saturday, March 28, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Largo’s SPCA Tampa Bay hosts its largest community fundraiser of the year, complete with live entertainment, costume contests, and dachshund races that are almost certainly the most objectively delightful sporting event available to the human race. Registration is free, and a $30 donation gets you a t-shirt, tote bag, pet bandana, and leash, which is a better deal than most things in life that don’t involve a small dog sprinting with maximum effort toward a finish line.

Saturday Morning Market*
Saturday, March 28, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Kick off your weekend at the free Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium Parking Lot, where local vendors offer fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and more–rain or shine.

Secondhand Market
Saturday, March 28, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
St. Pete Youth Farm hosts its monthly Secondhand Market alongside its Community Workday, giving vendors and shoppers a free, low-waste opportunity to pass along goods that deserve a second life. Showing up is free, the cause is genuinely good, and you will almost certainly leave with something you did not know you needed.

Do Good Day
Saturday, March 28, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Ferg’s Sports Bar transforms into St. Pete’s premier nonprofit fair, where local organizations set up career-fair style to showcase their missions and connect with potential volunteers in what is arguably the most productive thing you could do on a Saturday afternoon. If you have ever said “I really should volunteer more,” here is the universe handing you a very specific and convenient opportunity to stop saying that and actually do it.

St. Pete Street Market
Saturday, March 28, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Pinellas Ale Works is flipping its courtyard into a curated social hangout where you can browse local makers while your dog judges your third artisanal beer of the afternoon. This “loud-but-laid-back” market is specifically designed for people who want to support local artists but mostly want to wander around a brewery in the sun.

51st Annual Mainsail Art Festival*
Saturday & Sunday, March 28-29, Various Times
Vinoy Park hosts one of St. Pete’s most celebrated outdoor cultural events, drawing more than 100,000 visitors across two days to browse work from 250-plus juried fine art and craft exhibitors competing for $60,000 in prize money. Admission is free, live music runs throughout the weekend, and there is a kids’ art activity tent, which means this is one of the rare events where literally every member of your family has a legitimate reason to show up.

Central Florida Seafood & Jerk Festival
Saturday & Sunday, March 28-29, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Derby Lane Poker Club becomes the weekend’s most delicious destination as top chefs and local vendors descend on St. Pete with two days of fresh seafood, sizzling jerk cuisine, and live music that will make it genuinely difficult to leave. This is the kind of event where you show up hungry, leave uncomfortably full, and immediately start planning your return next year.

Blush’s Spring Fling Pop-Up Market
Sunday, March 29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Blush Tea & Coffee hosts an outdoor pop-up market featuring 15-plus local makers and vendors, a live DJ, and the kind of laid-back Sunday morning energy that makes you feel like you have your life together. Free to attend, full of handmade goods and small-business finds, and conveniently located steps away from coffee, which is frankly the only way a market should be run.

Local Legends Music Series*
📍Beyond the Burg: St. Pete Beach
Sunday, March 29, 11 a.m. – 1 a.m.
Jimmy B’s Beach Bar in St. Pete Beach kicks off its new monthly series celebrating the bands and artists who shaped the sound of St. Pete and Tampa, with a sunset performance, a featured retro cocktail, and a Local Legends Passport program that rewards loyal attendees with merch and, eventually, a free bar tab. The first Local Legend has yet to be announced, which is either an infuriating tease or a masterclass in building anticipation, and honestly it might be both.

Spring Night Market
📍Beyond the Burg: Pinellas Park
Sunday, March 29, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Unlimited Video Games Superstore and Arcade in Pinellas Park launches its first market of the year with local artists and vendors, food trucks, live music, performances, and a full arcade available all evening. Raffle prizes, sweet booths, and the inexplicable genius of combining a night market with a video game superstore make this the most unexpectedly delightful Sunday night option on the calendar.
