Eat, drink, dance, repeat. One of the best festivals of the year is on its way, with the Florida Seafood & Caribbean Music Festival taking over Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park this Saturday, May 23, from 2-10 pm. Tickets for the massive celebration are available here.
The festival is a true feast for all the senses, with the waterfront setting hosting the full afternoon and night of food and entertainment. While we’d be more than happy to spend the entire eight hours enjoying the experience, you definitely want to pencil in the 2-4 pm window as part of your plan. For the entirety of that two-hour stretch, there will be free crawfish for all ages and free rum punch for those 21+, so long as supplies last.
That combination of crawfish and rum punch is indicative of the type of flavorful and tropical experience to expect at the Florida Seafood & Caribbean Music Festival. Dozens and dozens of vendors, food trucks, chefs, crab pots and more from all over Florida will be on hand dishing up great seafood, with a mix of Gulf favorites and Caribbean staples. There will even be chef demos, plus great island drinks throughout
Meanwhile, the live music and DJs will be setting the vibes all day and night. You can expect everything from afro beats, southern soul, hip-hop and R&B to soca, house, reggae and dance hall. If you aren’t already dancing immediately upon entry, the rum punch will get you moving quickly enough.
Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and coolers. Children 10 and under get in free, and there is also a kids zone for the young ones, and yard games for all ages.
General Admission starts at $46 and includes the two hours of free crawfish and rum punch, as well as access to food vendors and all live music throughout the festival. There are also VIP tickets and group passes available. Organizers say the festival, which is expected to draw upwards of 10,000 people, is already nearing sellout.
